High Five for Friday

Back after missing for a few weeks in a row! We've had a couple busy weekends lately. (And I have been horrible at taking pics lately too.) The first weekend in November Levi and I went to Alex on Friday so that took care of blogging that day. And Saturday was a busy day too, with craft sale, then bridal shower, then another craft sale! Last weekend, Paul and I went to Arrowwood overnight for my birthday, which was that Thursday. Levi also had a dr. appointment on Friday, which I should go over in another post. So yeah, another packed weekend! Finally today we are home and I can hopefully get my post up quick before Levi wakes up!

1. I went out of my fashion 'norm' when we went out for supper last weekend. I thought it was cute. Once we stepped outside I realized I should have worn pants though, because it was cold and windy! BRR!

2. The parade of lights in Morris was last night. We took Levi and it was pretty fun. COLD! I put pj bottoms on him under his jeans, but I wish I would have put his snow pants on him. We just kept him wrapped in his blanket and he was fine. I thought the float in the top pic was pretty cute...the kids are supposed to be a spine! It was even funnier when they were all out of line! :)

3. Being a goofball!

4. He sat right there and watched cartoons for a good 5 minutes before he moved again. Not the best picture since I took it on my ipod.

5.  Me and my handsome little man.

High Five for Friday

I didn't take ONE picture of Levi this week. None! What?! That is pretty unusual for me. I guess in other words, we didn't do a whole lot this week. And I am slacking on taking pics. Anyhoo, here are my five.

1. My 5K on Saturday. It went well, I got a time of 35:44. Which I didn't think was bad at all, being the beginner that I am. I want to say I ran 2/3 of it. Yay me! :)

2. We went over to a friend's to watch the Vikings game on Sunday afternoon. We were late, since Levi took a three and a half hour nap. Guess he was tired! He slept good that night, too, surprisingly! The Vikes lost. Meh. Can you tell I am not a hardcore football fan? I like it but just don't get too into it.

3. Levi had his 18 month check-up on Tuesday. It went good except for the strep test, flu shot, and eye drops I have to give him until Monday. I will give more details when I do his 18 month update. Which will be coming as soon as I get his 18 month pictures back! Hopefully next week!

4. I found boots! I have been searching and searching for the perfect pair, and I finally found them! I ordered a pair from zappos a few weeks ago that I loved too, but they were too tight along the top so I couldn't fit my jeans in there. Then after Levi's appt., we went to the mall and I saw these at Maurice's. Of course the didn't have my size, so I just ordered them online and they should be here next week. Yay!

5. Levi spent the day with his cousins yesterday. There was no daycare b/c of M.E.A., so he went to play with Auntie Jess, and cousins Madison, Allie and Aaron. He was good and had a fun day!

Hopefully next week I'll have some more pictures to share, yeesh!

High Five for Friday

Friday once again! This week we didn't do too much. I didn't take many pictures either! I have to stay in the habit of taking pictures of everything if I am going to start Project Life this year. I gotta get some scrapbook pages done before that, though. Anyway, here are my five!

1. Fall mini session! Stephanie Foto | Stephanie Warzecha Photography had some fall mini sessions last Friday, so I signed Levi up. Once I decided on what to have him wear, which was quite the dilemma (ask my mother :) ), I think it went well! Stephanie has taken Levi's 6 month and 12 month pictures and she does a really good job. We got our workout in for the day following him around and trying to get him to look towards the camera. What worked the best? Roarrrrring! Oh that kid, such a goof! I roared at him and then the smiles came and we roared for the rest of the half hour session. Ha! I am excited to see how they turned out! I think we get them back a week from Monday.

2. Holmberg Orchards. Paul and I took Levi to the orchard/pumpkin patch on Sunday. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon! It actually turned out to be pretty nice out, too. Levi loooooved the boats they had filled with corn. He really didn't care about the pumpkins too much, figures! :) We bought a bag of Honeycrisp apples (that are delicious!) and Levi ate one on the way home. Hopefully we can go back next year!

3. Grandma came to visit! My mom came up on Tuesday to spend the day. It's always fun when she comes up, Levi loves Grandma! :)

4. Making daddy proud. Playing with the tractor that Daddy bought him!
5. More tractor :) He is such a boy.

That's all for this week!

High Five for Friday

I know, I know. I missed last week. We were pretty busy all day. Paul had the day off, so we spent a lot of the afternoon at the farm. And I think I honestly just forgot that it was Friday because I am not used to having Paul home on weekdays. It felt more like a Saturday.

Anyway, here are my five!

1. Jess and I took Aaron and Levi to the RFC (Regional Fitness Center at the UMM Campus) to play at the tot gym, which is really just a closet with a bunch of toys they can play with in the big gym there. They had a good time, and no one got hurt! Jess and I have come to the conclusion that those two are going to have a love/hate relationship as they get older. They love to give hugs, but then the next minute one is mad that the other is playing with a toy he dropped 10 minutes ago. Boys will be boys I guess! They looooved all the balls, as you can see by the first picture!
2. Playing in the leaves after mommy raked them all up! He thought it was funny when I put his slide in the pile! They didn't keep his attention for as long as I thought they would though. Imagine that!
3. Just some pics I have posted on Instagram over the past week. Watching cartoons. Future hoarder?? After nap hair. This morning having juice and some breakfast on the couch.
4. I got to take some senior pictures on Sunday last weekend. It was fun, and thankfully the family had a lot of ideas for locations, etc. I am always nervous with how they will turn out, especially since this was the first time I've taken pics for a non-family member! Hoping tonight to start editing, then I miiiight post a couple.

5. A video from last night. My boss is a big hunter, and he sent me home with some venison summer sausage and pepper sticks (antelope), so I gave a piece to Levi when we got home. He liked it.

Another 2-week edition of High Five for Friday

Possibly 3-week...

We have been busy the past couple weekends, so I haven't been able to get a H54F post up. Better late than never right?!

1. Shopping! Sort of, mostly for Levi. My mom, sister, and I (& Levi obviously :) went to St. Cloud last Friday. I wanted to get a few fall/winter things stocked up for Levi in his size from Once Upon a Child, and Katie needed some things too. She didn't find much of anything, but I have Levi pretty well-covered I think. I didn't think to take any pics until the end of the day, but the bottom two are from a quick stop at Cherry Berry frozen yogurt bar for an on-the-way-home treat. I gave Levi his own and he was pretty happy about that, Mr. Independent! The top one is just a shot from the drive home after we dropped Mom and Katie off.

2. Labor Day weekend. We went to my grandparents in Raymond for our family get-together. First pic is my brother-in-law Josh and their dog, Maggie, who made herself comfortable on his lap. Second pic is my cousin Skye with Levi. Third pic is just a random shot of the group. Levi spent most of the afternoon half-nekkid because it was so darn sticky...blech. Pretty sure everyone was jealous.

3. Canning tomatoes....ughhhh. So worth it in the winter, but it has been hard to find time this year. The majority of it is done after Levi goes to bed, or if I go to my mom's so she can help me. This batch was for V8 type juice.

4. Caught! Look closely at what he got into. He thought he was pretty sneaky (and funny). Guess mommy didn't put the box far enough back on the counter.

5. FINALLY got my eyebrows waxed. Yes, that totally made my high five for the week. It was beyond time.

Decided to link up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk blog for the first time in quite awhile!

High Five for Friday

Getting this up kind of late, but here it is!

1. Levi and I went to the lake for a couple days while my family was there. He loved it! He loves the water and isn't afraid of it at all. Good, but also a little scary at times. Like when he wanted to just jump right off the boat....seriously, he would have just walked right off the back. My sister ended up taking him in so he was happy with that.

2. We went to the park twice this week. Well, 2 different parks. First was the UMM Children's Garden. We went with Jess and Aaron. Then we stopped at the park on the other side of town while we went on a walk today.

3. Garden veggies! Refrigerator dill pickles and freezing sweet corn. Yum!

4. I joined Weight Watchers. I am excited about it and hope that it works for me. I needed a little extra push and someone other than myself to be accountable to. Just knowing that I am not the only one who will see my weight every week will hopefully be a motivator to keep it up.

5. Levi took his first ride in the semi with daddy! We finally got a second convertible car seat, so Paul hooked that up in there and took him when he took a load of wheat to town. It was pretty cute how excited Paul was to take him! He ended up sleeping most of the way though, which doesn't surprise me! :)
See him in there? :) He looks so tiny.

High Five for Friday

Is it possible that each passing week this summer goes by faster than the last? Man, it is just flying. Kind of late getting my post up this week, but we took a little bit of a day trip today. Paul took the day off so we could go down to Montevideo and see the Pioneer Village, then down to Redwood to check out Ramsey Falls. We go down to Ramsey once in awhile but this is the first time we took Levi. We love going down by the MN river bottom, so pretty in that area. Turned out to be an interesting afternoon, we spent an hour or so of it sitting at the Ford dealership in Redwood Falls getting a new alternator put into the pick-up! That was pleasant. It actually wasn't that bad, there was another mom there waiting for an oil-change, so we chatted with her and her two little girls. One of them was 6 months and just sitting and moving a little on her own, she was so cute! It sort of made me miss when Levi was that age! Seems like just yesterday. Both of the girls had on these amber teething necklaces so I asked her about them, and she said they have really helped her girls. I am contemplating getting one for Levi now that he's going to be getting a mouth-ful of molars. We'll see...not sure if Paul would let me put any sort of necklace on his little boy...

Well that got longer than I planned! I tend to ramble about things sometimes... :) Here's my five for this week!

1. Loving these things lately! I found them at the store this week and have been on a chicken salad kick for lunch at work. These are the Italian Herb flavor, but I want to try the Multigrain next. Yum!

2. Fireworks and another night out! Levi stayed overnight at my sister's on Saturday night so Paul and I could go to the street dance. We had a fun time with some friends, but it reminded me that I am getting too old for certain things...ahem. Lets just say once the room stopped spinning that night I slept fine. And it doesn't help that I am a lightweight, not drinking for over a year will do that to ya! Hi mom! :) This is the best shot of the fireworks that I got, they weren't anything spectacular. We thought they were over 3 times, then they would start up again. It's a small town so I guess we can't expect too much!

3. Got my hair colored! Well, just highlights. They weren't what I had in mind, but I like them. They're very subtle. No pic, sorry!

4. Someone was tired on the way home. I just thought it was hilarious how he had his binker in his mouth like that! He was OUT.

5. Day trip! Here are a few pics from our little excursion earlier! :) Levi was not terribly interested in the Pioneer Village (obviously, since he is only 15 months old!) but he was happy to be out of his car seat and running around. He liked the falls. My failed attempt (once again) at a family pic. Someday that will work...Levi doesn't quite get the 'look at the camera' concept yet! It was a fun day, nice to spend some time as a family!

High Five for Friday

Another week with no post besides this one :(

It went by really fast, since it was the week of the 4th. And this weekend is going to be pretty busy too. Tomorrow is the parade and festivities in Hancock for the 4th. It is always fun though! We look forward to it every year.

Here's my five favorites from the past week!

1. Movie night with friends!! A couple girlfriends and I went to see Magic Mike. It was good, I mean how can you not enjoy looking at Channing Tatum for 1.5 hrs?! Haha! Movie theater popcorn doesn't hurt either, yum!

2. Our 5 year anniversary was on Saturday, so Paul's mom and dad came in and watched Levi so we could go out for supper. We went to our favorite place over in Ortonville, on Big Stone Lake. The food is so yummy, and we even got to sit outside this time so the view was great!
Can't tell that Paul had gotten a little sun earlier in the day, can ya?

3. We got Levi a little pool to play in when it's hot out, so we filled it up Sunday afternoon. The water was a little cold yet, so he was less than thrilled when we just plopped him in there. He had more fun taking handfuls of sand from his sand & water table, and dropping it in the pool. It wasn't worth getting upset over because we planned on dumping the water out right away anyways. So we just watched him and laughed. He was pretty happy with himself. He did like to splash in the water a bit too...this pic was before he started depositing sand in there.

4. Good read. I borrowed this book from my Grandma, and I absolutely loved it. It is a true story, and I highly recommend it. It is amazing, and really makes you think about things. (Sorry, fuzzy iPod pic)

5. 4th of July! We spent the afternoon down in Renville, and we took Levi out to my aunt and uncles to cool off in their pool. He wasn't crazy about the floaty, but he didn't scream or anything. He also had fun when Grandpa pushed him around on the tractor!

And just because I feel like it, here is a pic I took of little monkey yesterday. New trick.

High Five for Friday

I missed last week. It was a busy day. I had a doctor appointment, then when I got home I had to clean and get ready for a Thirty One party I was having that night. Thankfully Levi was a good boy and I got ready in time, for the most part.

1. Levi gives the best kisses!

2. A nice surprise when I got home from work Monday.

3. Levi is getting the whole using a spoon thing down pretty good! It's usually pretty messy, but he can scoop and get it to his mouth on his own really well! He's pretty proud of himself when he does it! :)

4. We went to the pool TWICE this week! Once in Renville to the kiddie pool, and just last night to the Benson pool with Jess and the kids. Levi loves the water!

5. Our raspberry bush is producing like three times as many berries as it has the past 2 years combined. I am not sure what to do with them! Levi loves to help me pick them. He can pick them off himself and eats them, but I have to watch him because he doesn't always pick the ripe ones. I don't think he'd like one that is still white, with the stem attached! Silly kid.

High Five for Friday

Friday is here once again! Geez, the weeks go by too fast in the summer!!

1. Grilling with friends. We got a babysitter Saturday night and went to a bbq that some of our friends were having. Good food, good friends, good time! Can't go wrong!

2. Levi's first ice cream cone! My mom came up Sunday to hang out, and after we went to the antique store in Morris we stopped at DQ on the way home. Levi loved his ice cream cone, but didn't quite get how to lick it yet, so after letting him investigate it a little, we gave it to him with a spoon. Yum!

3. Happy mail! The summer book I ordered from Elise Joy came in the mail this week. I love it! I've already started saving things and taking pictures to add to it. The colors are just so pretty.

4. My elliptical that had been collecting dust for the past year is finally gone. I sold it on a swap and shop site on facebook. I'd really like to get a treadmill now, but we'll have to see what happens this fall.

5. Someone got another haircut! He did SO good this time! I was so proud of him! Levi, not Paul, in case anyone was wondering. We gave him a sucker and he just went to town on that while Annette trimmed away. I think he looks pretty darn handsome! Such a big boy now!

Have a good week!

High Five for Friday

Late today but at least I'm getting it posted! We had a really good Memorial weekend. A lot of running around some days, but it was fun. Here are my five!

1. Last Friday I went to St. Cloud with my friend Heather. We just had a few stops to make, so not a huge shopping trip or anything. We had Levi and her 6-week old along so we didn't have too high of expectations! For lunch we went to Buffalo Wild Wings...it has been a looong time since I've been there, but YUM!! I had fish tacos and they were awesome! Really simple, but sooo good. That was probably the highlight of the trip for me, haha! :)

2. My mom turned FIFTY last week, and this past weekend we had a little 'surprise' supper for her. We took her out for supper and invited family to come with, but she didn't know it, so that was the surprise part! After supper, the six of us went back to their house and had a little bonfire after I put Levi to bed. Fun night!

3. Sunday night one of our friends turned THIRTY, so we went to a surprise birthday party for him, too. We actually missed the surprise because we were late, but it was fun to hang out with all of our friends in one place again! It's been a long, long time since we've done that. Getting married, having kids, and moving away can do that I guess!!

4. Memorial Day=LONG WEEKEND. Besides all the other fun stuff I already mentioned from the past weekend, we had Monday off, which is always nice.
The first pic is from Sunday at my mom and dad's...Levi loved 'driving' on grandpa's lawn mower! On Monday we grilled for supper, and the last pic is Levi's favorite place in the yard...the dirt. We don't have anything planted in that particular spot and that is the first place he goes when we're outside. He likes to watch the neighbor kids when they are outside too, that's what he's looking at.

5. ZUMBA!! I tried it for the first time on Thursday and it was a lot of fun! The class I went to was actually Club Zumba, and I probably would have benefited from going to one of the regular classes first to get some of the moves down, because I have ZERO. I'm not a natural dancer by any means, so it's going to take some practice before I get the feel for it. It's definitely a workout though!

high five for friday

Another week that went by fast! I have a feeling this whole summer is going to fly by. Every year it goes faster and faster! I hope we are able to enjoy every minute though!

 Here are my five:

1. Leonard and Louise's. It's a sale that is held twice a year, and they sell antiques, re-done furniture, etc. for really good prices. The couple that does it fixed up an old school house that they have the sale it and it's really cute. I try and get out there every time they have the sale and check out what they have. This year I scored an old wire basket, a couple bowls, a small crock, and some neat magnets.

2. Pizza party! Paul's sister was home this past weekend, so we all went over and ordered pizza on Saturday night. Can't go wrong with Pizza Hut and the white sauce that you can only at the Morris location! YUM!! It was fun to see her and hang out with the family for the evening.

3. Helping daddy in the garden.
Levi had a blast playing in the dirt while Paul planted some onions in the garden. It was bath night anyway, so I just let him go at it! Typical boy who loves getting dirty!!

4. Grandma came to visit!
My mom came up to make some cake pops for my cousin's graduation this weekend, and when she got here Levi was down for a nap. When he woke up and I brought him down stairs he had his head on my shoulder yet, and as soon as he heard grandma's voice, he whipped around and practically jumped into her arms! Luckily I had my camera close so I could snap a picture quick! :)

5. Lou's Greenhouse. Jess and I went there this morning. It was fun but also a workout with the kiddos along!! I have to say they were very well-priced though, definitely glad we checked it out!

High Five for Friday

It's been a few weeks since I've joined in...not because I haven't had anything to share, I've just been lazy! Hoping to keep it up this time! :)

This week went by pretty quick. We had some nice days, and some stormy weather as well. Luckily we missed the severe stuff, but Wednesday night we got some small hail.

Tuesday I brought Levi in to the dr. because he had a bit of a cough that didn't sound very good at night and in the morning. His lungs were clear and the dr. said he has been seeing it going around in young kids, so he gave him some cough medicine to at least help him sleep better at night. That seems to help, and hopefully the cough will go away soon.

Now on to my five!

1. PROM! Levi and I went down to see my cousin Rachel at her senior prom last weekend. It was really fun to spend some time with my family and see all the pretty dresses! Rachel looked beautiful!

2. This beauty was delivered to my doorstep:
Paul put it together for me and I am in LOVE. So glad we decided to upgrade from my current garage sale find. It pushes like a breeze, and even Levi loves riding in it more! Seriously, he gets excited when he sees it! :)

3. Prettiness for my desk at work:
My boss's wife brought one of these for my co-worker and I for a belated Administrative Assistant Day gift. It's nice to have some color to brighten up my desk for a while. I will bring it home in a couple weeks I think and re-pot it.

4. Loving this stuff lately:
It has a splash of coconut water in it, and it's a nice change from regular water or my iced tea mix every once in awhile.

5. Allie Jo's preschool program was this week, and Levi and I went to watch her. She is in the younger class, 3's and 4's I think, and they sang 2 songs. It was fun to see her up on stage! She did a great job and looked adorable! I didn't get a decent picture because there was a mic stand right in my line of vision, so I was bummed about that. After the concert there was an ice cream social, so that was neat. Of course Levi loved the ice cream!
