It only took me a week, but I'm finally getting some pics up from Father's Day! We went to Glacial Lakes State Park for a little while in the afternoon. We were hoping to swim and go on the trails around the lake, but it didn't go exactly as we planned. We got partway along the trail and it was blocked by trees down, so that ended that plan! So we turned around and walked down to the beach. It was cloudy and a little chilly to swim, so we didn't do that either. It was nice to spend some time together though. We're hoping to do some more of these day trips though, since we bought a MN State Park pass. Here's the pics!
Levi was such a good boy. He wanted to go in the water so bad! Hopefully next time! My attempt at a family picture failed..

little country boy!
When Levi was born, my aunt Angel gave me a bag of some outfits she saved from when my cousin Sawyer was little, he was also an April baby. Not all of them fit Levi, but this one was too cute not to put on him just for fun to take some pics! He wasn't real interested in more photos, but I got a couple cute ones!

High Five for Friday
Friday is here once again! Geez, the weeks go by too fast in the summer!!
1. Grilling with friends. We got a babysitter Saturday night and went to a bbq that some of our friends were having. Good food, good friends, good time! Can't go wrong!
2. Levi's first ice cream cone! My mom came up Sunday to hang out, and after we went to the antique store in Morris we stopped at DQ on the way home. Levi loved his ice cream cone, but didn't quite get how to lick it yet, so after letting him investigate it a little, we gave it to him with a spoon. Yum!
3. Happy mail! The summer book I ordered from Elise Joy came in the mail this week. I love it! I've already started saving things and taking pictures to add to it. The colors are just so pretty.
4. My elliptical that had been collecting dust for the past year is finally gone. I sold it on a swap and shop site on facebook. I'd really like to get a treadmill now, but we'll have to see what happens this fall.
5. Someone got another haircut! He did SO good this time! I was so proud of him! Levi, not Paul, in case anyone was wondering. We gave him a sucker and he just went to town on that while Annette trimmed away. I think he looks pretty darn handsome! Such a big boy now!
Have a good week!

we've got a climber!
Levi has been honing his climbing skills the past couple weeks. He's mastered getting onto the couch by himself, and can easily get onto the dining room chairs (and then to the table of course) if we don't push them under the table. If it has a ledge, he is trying to climb it. Thankfully, he does very well at getting off of things too. He knows how to get down by going backwards. He thinks he's pretty smart. Lately he's been trying to back off the changing table...yeah, I don't think that one would work out so well bud...even if you do go backwards. Here is some photographic evidence of his climbing adventures.
He got up there all on his own, with the water bottle in his hand the whole time. Unfortunately, this time didn't have such a graceful ending, he decided to try and sit and fell backwards before I had a chance to grab him. A few minutes cuddling with blankie and his binker (and mom), and he was off and running again.

High Five for Friday
Wow, I've been pretty horrible at keeping this blog up to date lately. At least I've been posting once a week with my high five for Friday I guess!
Pretty standard week for the most part. Gettin' warm around here though, summer has definitely arrived!
1. More graduations this past weekend! We went to Spicer for my cousin Sierra's graduation. It was fun to hang out with my dad's side of the family for awhile, we don't see them as often as my mom's side. Levi had fun running around and making himself at home. They had a little duckling and some kittens, so of course he loved those! My cousin Ryan's party was also that same day, but we didn't make it to that one. It would have been a lot of driving for Levi.
2. I was able to go for an unexpected walk with a couple friends on Tuesday morning, so that was a lot of fun! Not so fun were the blisters I got from going for said walk in flip-flops because I didn't have tennis shoes in my car. Reminder: Unexpected walk=not prepared. It was worth it though.
3. I took Levi to the lake that is a mile or so out of town. He LOVED it! Just walked right in and sat down in the sand. He had a blast splashing and digging in the sand. I'm sure we'll be going there some more in the next few weeks before the lake turns green...it's not a very deep lake so it's not very good for swimming after June/July.
4. Zappos free shipping is awesome. I ordered a pair of sandals for Levi, expecting standard 5-8 day shipping, and they were here in 2 days. Sadly, I'm going to have to return them. They were a little snug on him.
5. Visitors today! Jess and the kids came to play and get some rhubarb from us. The kids always have fun with each other! :)

High Five for Friday
Late today but at least I'm getting it posted! We had a really good Memorial weekend. A lot of running around some days, but it was fun. Here are my five!
1. Last Friday I went to St. Cloud with my friend Heather. We just had a few stops to make, so not a huge shopping trip or anything. We had Levi and her 6-week old along so we didn't have too high of expectations! For lunch we went to Buffalo Wild Wings...it has been a looong time since I've been there, but YUM!! I had fish tacos and they were awesome! Really simple, but sooo good. That was probably the highlight of the trip for me, haha! :)
2. My mom turned FIFTY last week, and this past weekend we had a little 'surprise' supper for her. We took her out for supper and invited family to come with, but she didn't know it, so that was the surprise part! After supper, the six of us went back to their house and had a little bonfire after I put Levi to bed. Fun night!
3. Sunday night one of our friends turned THIRTY, so we went to a surprise birthday party for him, too. We actually missed the surprise because we were late, but it was fun to hang out with all of our friends in one place again! It's been a long, long time since we've done that. Getting married, having kids, and moving away can do that I guess!!
4. Memorial Day=LONG WEEKEND. Besides all the other fun stuff I already mentioned from the past weekend, we had Monday off, which is always nice.
The first pic is from Sunday at my mom and dad's...Levi loved 'driving' on grandpa's lawn mower! On Monday we grilled for supper, and the last pic is Levi's favorite place in the yard...the dirt. We don't have anything planted in that particular spot and that is the first place he goes when we're outside. He likes to watch the neighbor kids when they are outside too, that's what he's looking at.
5. ZUMBA!! I tried it for the first time on Thursday and it was a lot of fun! The class I went to was actually Club Zumba, and I probably would have benefited from going to one of the regular classes first to get some of the moves down, because I have ZERO. I'm not a natural dancer by any means, so it's going to take some practice before I get the feel for it. It's definitely a workout though!

13 months
Just wanted to do a quick update of Levi at 13 months with some pics and the fun new things he's been doing! I'll do his height/weight updates when we have his check-ups with the dr.
Getting these pictures was a CHALLENGE! Holy cow! Stand still? NO WAY MOM!! Haha! I had to make some very loud, obnoxious noises to get him to even look my direction and smile or laugh. I'm pretty sure the neighbors weren't home otherwise I'm sure they would have wondered about me. :) I am happy with the ones I got, they capture his busy, non-stop personality well! Good practice with my camera on manual too. ;)
At 13 months::
He is walking all over...go, go, GO!
Can go down the stairs by himself. (I still stay close since he's only been doing this for a week or so) He actually sort of surprised me with this one. I only started showing him how to come down on his tummy a few times, and it must have just clicked. He does really good with it!
Pointing at everything! Once he figured out how to do that, he is always pointing at something.
I swear his first word is 'shoes'. Random, yes. When I tell him let's go bye-bye, he runs to the basket I keep by the door with all his shoes, grabs one and goes 'sh-sss'...or something to that effect. Pretty cute!
Calls daddy from the top of the stairs by the gate when he goes in the basement, or just anywhere. He goes 'Da! Da! DA!' over and over. Not dada, just DA.
Obviously loves being outside!
He can operate the little 4-wheeler we got him for his birthday on his own now. Once he figured that out, he was pretty proud of himself! Of course, he can't steer or anything, and he doesn't look where he's going. So he'll be pushing the button looking at me with this big grin...pretty hilarious!! :) Also notice how he stands up while driving it...such a boy!!
Dances! Oh. My. Heavens. It is SOOO funny!! We went to Madison's spring program the other night at the church and Paul and I were CRACKING UP because he was standing our our lap, holding onto the pew in front of us and just movin' and shakin' while the kids sang! He shakes his butt and moves his head and shoulders, sometimes he'll start waving his arms around! So stinkin' funny!!
He is as such a fun age right now, and I think we are in for a super fun summer!!
btw...sorry no high five for Friday post this week!
